I like dePaola’s rich and clean watercolor drawings. You may recognize his art work from his more commonly known books that are out there (like “Strega Nona”. But I’ve thought some of his books kind of hard to read, this one is not like that. This is a board book, with short sentences with easy words, and is a very quick read. On the cover is a pumpkin that’s one layer higher than the cover, so it has a slight 3D feel to it. The book covers the basics about what we do for Halloween, starting with carving the pumpkin, decorating the house, trick or treating and a Halloween party to top it off.
